Kaboom Toilet Bowl Cleaner Pods
We built Kaboom toilet bowl cleaner pods to take the guesswork out of bowl maintenance. Each pod contains a concentrated dose of OxiClean stain fighters plus foaming agents that coat the entire bowl surface when you flush. You drop one pod in, wait ten minutes, brush lightly if needed, and flush — no measuring, no pouring, no splashing.

Drop one Kaboom toilet bowl cleaner pod directly into the bowl water — not the tank. The water-soluble film dissolves in under thirty seconds and releases a burst of foam that spreads across porcelain surfaces and clings under the rim where brushes often miss.

Ingredients & bowl safety
Each pod contains sodium percarbonate — the same oxygen-bleach compound in OxiClean laundry booster — combined with surfactants that create the foaming action and fragrance oils for a fresh scent. When sodium percarbonate dissolves in water, it releases hydrogen peroxide and soda ash, both of which break down into water and oxygen after cleaning.
We formulated the pods without chlorine bleach, so they won’t discolor or weaken colored porcelain, and they’re safe for the rubber and plastic components inside your toilet tank if a pod accidentally ends up there. The formula is also septic-safe because the oxygen compounds decompose naturally and don’t disrupt bacterial digestion in septic tanks.

Storage & shelf life
Store the pod package in a cool, dry spot — a bathroom cabinet or linen closet works well. Each pod is individually sealed in a water-soluble film, then wrapped in a moisture-barrier pouch to prevent premature activation. As long as you keep the outer package closed between uses, the pods will stay potent for up to two years.
If a pod gets damp before you’re ready to use it, the outer film may start to soften or stick to neighboring pods. You can still use a slightly tacky pod — just drop it in the bowl right away and it will dissolve normally. Avoid storing pods under the sink if you have a slow leak, and don’t leave the package open in a humid bathroom after a shower.

Questions about Kaboom toilet bowl cleaner pods
For regular maintenance in a household with average use, one pod every week or two keeps the bowl stain-free. If you have hard water or iron staining, you may want to use a pod weekly. For deep cleaning or removing existing buildup, use two pods at once and let them work for twenty minutes before brushing.
Yes, the oxygen-release formula in Kaboom toilet bowl cleaner pods is safe for septic systems. The active ingredients break down into water, oxygen, and soda ash, which don’t harm the beneficial bacteria in your septic tank. Avoid using more than two pods at once to prevent overloading the system with cleaning agents.
The pod will dissolve and release foam inside the tank, but it won’t damage any components. The next time you flush, the foam will empty into the bowl. You won’t get the concentrated cleaning effect on the bowl surface that you would from a direct drop, so it’s best to use another pod in the bowl itself if you’re trying to remove stains.
Yes, the OxiClean formula in each pod breaks down rust stains caused by iron in well water. For heavy rust buildup, lower the water level in the bowl before dropping in the pod so the foam sits directly on the stain. Let it work for fifteen to twenty minutes, then scrub and flush. Repeat if necessary for older stains.
Absolutely. The pods contain no chlorine bleach, so they won’t discolor or fade colored porcelain. The oxygen-based formula is gentle on glazed surfaces while still being tough on stains. We’ve tested the pods on almond, blue, and pink vintage toilets with no color damage.
As long as you keep the package closed between uses and store it in a dry place, the individually wrapped pods will stay potent for up to two years. Moisture is the main enemy — if pods get damp they may start to stick together or soften, but they’ll still clean effectively if used right away.
Yes, the pod formula won’t interfere with in-tank tablets. The pod works in the bowl for ten to twenty minutes and then rinses away, while tank tablets release cleaner gradually over weeks. Using both gives you periodic deep cleaning from the pods plus everyday maintenance from the tank tablet.
